The Make Me Smile is one of my favorite handbags from London based designer Belen Echandia. I recently shared pictures of my full sized Make Me Smile and thought I would offer a few pictures of the Make Me Smile Midi and a few comparison shots between the two.
Shown above is the Make Me Smile Midi in the classic BE matte tan leather. A chic color that will stand the test of time and fashion trends.
From the side, you can see the lovely buckle details on the side. The buckle is adjustable and allows you to basically form less or more of an "arch" as tightening it will pull the corners down a bit.
Here are the Make Me Smile Midi (left) and full sized Make Me Smile (right). Keep in mind that the tan MMS Midi is new so the leather is not as worn in. The MMS on the right is worn in and puddles when not full. Truly, this process is one of my favorites to watch with my BE handbags.
The Make Me Smile Midi and Make Me Smile have all the same features, but the full sized is just a tad bigger. The front zipper pocket on the full sized is nicely sized - plenty of room for your phone, keys, and a pack of gum. On the midi, it holds your phone and a list or pack of gum.
The Make Me Smile Midi measures 13W x 11H x 4.7D and the Make Me Smile measures 16.5W x 11H x 4.7D - so you get a 3.5 extra inches of width with the full sized.

The Make Me Smile Midi is extremely comfortable when worn on the shoulder. The straps are narrow and both stay on my shoulder when carried. The drop is roughly 8 inches, but after the straps break in, you get an extra inch.
A wonderful mid sized handbag...wonderful does not cut it. :) This is a perfect mid sized handbag and what I love is the horizontal layout. Everything is right there for you and super easy to find. I personally do not find the midi or full sized Make Me Smile too long either. You know how some handbags can knock the rack over at the store because they stick out too far...not the case at all with either of these for me. For reference, I am 5'7" and size 4/6.
Another fave feature of Belen Echandia handbags...love the option to go messenger style.
The Belen Echandia Make Me Smile Midi fits all of my daily essentials with ease: a pouch with snacks for the kids, my Belen Echandia Kiss Me Clutch with my random goodies and first aid, my BE Zipper Wallet and a Coach wristlet with coupons. Toss in my sunglasses and water bottle and the main compartment is good to go. I keep random items and receipts in the zippered pocket and the magnetic hidden pocket on the opposite side.
