One Mommy's Review of the Hayden Harnett Kira Hobo

While my bag stash is very satisfying, I have been searching for a brown leather handbag that is perfect for everyday use. Nothing super fancy looking, not too big, but large enough to carry stuff for me alone...or the kids if I need. The Hayden Harnett Kira Hobo fulfills all of those requirements and more!

It is a fabulous size measuring in at 16"L x 14"H x 3-3/4"D. I was worried it may be too long but it is perfect! I would say it is deeper than the measurements HH gives so don't be put off by a less than four inch depth. You will see some pics that clearly defy this number. :)

The Hayden Harnett Kira Hobo features a geometric patchwork pattern on the leather, which truly is buttery soft. The ruched detail adds a classy touch as well.

Here you can see the ruched details and the zipper closer. I didn't know this had a zipper so was thrilled to see it. You can also see the double rope strap design. They are comfortable and will only get more so with use. One big benefit of rope straps is that they do not slip as much and can be folded over one another to secure them from slipping if you need. On the Kira - they do not slip at all for me.

Each side of the Kira features a generously sized pocket with a magnetic closure. As you can see...

the pockets are awesome! I can fit my iPhone, keys, gum, blue tooth headset, and any last minute toss in item in one of these! (Isn't the lining gorgeous?)

The interior features two slip pockets on one side and a zippered pocket on the other. (I must say that the Moonbeam Carryall matches the lining quite nicely...)

Did I mention how pretty the lining is? :)

The HH Kira has a strap drop of 11 inches. It is enough that I can swing it on without my elbow getting stuck. I can also reach in with the hand of the arm I am wearing it on if I need to.

I remeasured the drop when it is worn and it is actually closer to 12 or 12.5 inches. These shots are taken in natural light so you can see it is a gorgeous rich brown color.

Another note about the drop and bag design because I have serious drop issues. I like that the bag hangs low enough that my upper arm and elbow area are not puffed out by the depth of the bag. My elbow sits over the top area of the bag so it is comfortable. You can also use your elbow to toss the bag back if you need to pick up a child (This is for you, Jennifer! :) )

And now onto the best part - as a mom, exterior pockets that can fit water bottles are a bonus on any bag. I can fit TWO Funtainers in one pocket! The magnetic snap closure meets in the middle and keeps them separated. Will I always use this feature? No. But, it is certainly nice to have the option. (They fit inside as well...)

Here is a front shot in natural lighting. For this mommy - objective met! The Hayden Harnett Kira makes a perfect everyday handbag that I can dress up or down and fit all I need.
