One Mommy's Thoughts on the Lexie Barnes Gem

I thought I would give the Lexie Barnes Gem a try. What was my goal? A small grab and go bag that would hold my wallet, basic essentials, and my iPhone. I really like it a lot!






The fabric wipes clean and the Utopia print is very attractive. I like the light brown tone in it, which thus makes it match a lot of other bags. I also like the fact that it is small enough that it could fit inside a larger bag when traveling. The strap is adjustable and detachable, too, making this not just feasible, but comfortable since I will not have to fight with a strap while it is in a bigger bag.





I keep my random girly stuff in a JJB Be Mine so here is a size comparison of the Be Mine next to the Gem. I can easily fit my Be Mine, wallet, and phone in the Gem for the grab and go function I was hoping to find. Mission accomplished! :)







Here is a shot to give you an idea of the scale against the body - I am 5'7". I have the strap shortened so there is plenty more slack if you prefer it longer. Now mind you, this is a light bag. It is not meant to haul your weights to the gym. Thus, the strap is not wide and does not have a pad or anything. That can be a good thing though. Us ladies need some prodding every once in awhile to convince us that it is OK to not carry so much stuff.

So my thoughts overall? I am quite pleased with it. For its purpose, I would give it 4/5 stars. Why4? Because there is always room for improvement in just about anything in life. It could have a few organizational things added...pen loop, small card pocket, or phone pocket. With that being said, it fits the bill I was looking for. I think it will also make a great travel bag for tickets, ID's, etc. so I can have that handy, but stick my Gem in a larger bag when no longer needed.
